Well did you hear it? The monster who was going to make it more difficult for those with
mental ill health to get PIP because they are not really ill in his opinion, has lost his job. No
further comment required.

Speaker for July’s meeting
More news is that we have speakers for the July open meeting. In November of last year
Healthwatch Nottingham and Nottinghamshire issued a report on their findings from an
earlier survey. It is about how inpatients and outpatients of the county perceived the
services of our Trust and our trusts response. Healthwatch very kindly made a copy available
to me.

It made me very sad to read some of the responses after all the time myself and other
members, over many years, have given to our trust to improve the lot of all patients ,to find
that not one word has been acted upon.

Please attend this meeting and find out what has been uncovered.

Meetings Geoff has attended
I attended a meeting at Highbury Hospital on a Thursday evening not long ago only to find I
was the only one there. In the room was a huge television screen 8ft x 5ft (2.4m x 1.5m) with a football game being shown. Now I am not disloyal to the POOR Englishmen playing but I did think that unpaid carers deserved more support than these POOR footballers. So, if you get another chance to attend Highbury for carers support please try (although I do
realise it’s not an easy time of day for carers).

Donations needed
Finally we are running out of raffle prizes for our open meetings. If you have anything that
might help (last year’s Christmas presents are good, I find) and that you no longer need

We will soon be launching our newly updated website and social media pages. We’ve also
begun to use our new email address: [email protected] Please look out for emails
from this address and feel free to use it to contact us.

Well, that’s all at present looking forward to seeing everyone on 17th July 1-00pm at the
Mechanics.

The Meetings will be, as usual at the Nottingham Mechanics on Sherwood Street (beside the
building site) from 1-00pm to 4-00pm.
